Description

After the 48g ultra-light spool ( https://makerworld.com/en/models/3071327-new-48g-ultra-light-weight-spool-robust-design ), I wanted to push the same concept further and redesign it for the Bambu Lab AMS ecosystem.

The result is a completely new 198 mm outer diameter spool, engineered to be extremely light while maintaining the stiffness and robustness required for everyday use.

Only 49 grams

The complete spool weighs approximately 49 g, despite its larger 198 mm diameter.

The geometry has been optimized to remove unnecessary material while keeping the structure rigid where it matters.

Lightweight does not mean fragile.

The spoke layout, reinforced hub and outer rim have been designed together to obtain a very efficient structure with an excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio.

With its 198 mm external diameter, the spool is designed specifically for use inside the Bambu Lab filament ecosystem.

Engineered, not simply hollowed out

The goal was not just to make another lightweight spool.

Every part has a function:

• optimized radial spoke structure
• reinforced central hub
• lightweight outer rim
• minimal material where structural strength is not required
• integrated filament fixing points
• easy assembly and disassembly

The result is a spool that combines very low weight, rigidity and practical everyday use.
