Description
I made this little clip for the front of the Modular Filament Spool Rack so I could add labels without pulling each spool out to check the details. The front face is 42 mm × 21.4 mm, and I print stickers to fit that space.
The clip slides right into the center at the bottom of the rack ad doesn’t get in the way when swapping filament. My bottom racks do have a tiny bit of a lift but it hasn’t caused a problem – my racks are three wide and seven tall. I printed the clip in 0.24 mm draft because it just needs to hold a sticker, not survive an apocalypse.
Bonus – when I pull filament from my rack, I take the label with it and set it in front of my AMS where that filament is. I have more filament than I have rack space so things get swapped around a lot.
Be nice to me. I’m not a model designer, nor do I play one on TV. I made this in Tinkercad using basic shapes because that’s literally all I know how to do. I wanted a simple way to label my spools. My first version worked but was a little loose. After someone asked me to share it, I tightened the fit slightly. This version fits quite snugly.
If you don’t use the Modular Filament Spool Rack, this part won’t be useful. it’s made specifically for that system.
